The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Thursday welcomed the willingness of some opposition leaders to participate in the next regional elections, scheduled by the National Electoral Council (CNE) for December 10 of this year.
«Hopefully they would take the path of politics, of elections, of vote, and abandon the madness of extermination, violence and bullet. Hopefully!. I salute the fact that they register and go to the CNE», stressed the national President during a working meeting at the Miraflores Palace.
He expressed his hope that the opposition will not back down, and sent his congratulations to the rectification made by the Acción Democrática, Avanzada Progresista, un Nuevo Tiempo parties, as well as several members of Primero Justicia, who announced that they will register their candidates.
He urged the Revolutionary people to prepare the 4 × 4 machinery to win all the Governorates, in order to maintain «all investment and social work, in addition to consolidating peace.»
«It is necessary to liberate the states that are in the hands of the «guarimberos» (rioters), to get them free from the violent, the «guarimberos», the corrupt; and consolidate them in the hands of the people, because in here the people rules», he emphasized.
