The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, reported on Thursday that he will deliver a document to the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) to request the declaration of unconstitutionality of the Law of Amnesty and National Reconciliation approved by the National Assembly (NA) with an opposition majority.
From Miraflores Palace, where he received nearly 3 million signatures rejecting the approval of this Law, the President said: «I have decided today to send, and I request that you join this mobilization, to the legal secretary of Miraflores Palace with this document , asking the Constitutional Court to declare as unconstitutional the law of «criminal» amnesty, for the Supreme Court to meet in full exercise of their duties and take the decision. Justice!».
He stressed that as a Head of State he defends peace for the country, «But peace with respect.»
