The National Commission for Truth, Justice, Care for Victims and Peace extended its condolences to the relatives of Orlando Figuera, who died on Saturday night, June 3, after weeks of medical attention for being burned and stabbed by violent opposition groups.
Figuera was passing through the vicinity of the Francia Square in Altamira when he encountered groups of opponents who were summoned to protest against the Government. He was going to his uncle’s house, after leaving work, when one of those attending the meeting called him a supporter of the Government and then he was attacked, beaten, stabbed and burned alive by a group of violent people.

The Commission ratifies that crimes against Human Rights caused by opposition violence must not go unpunished, said the chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and member of the Commission, Delcy Rodríguez.
She added that the National Constituent Assembly will make it possible to correct deviations from the judicial system, in relation to denunciations of inaction
of instances of the system that have not allowed to do justice to these facts.
