Lucena: CNE does not act under anyone's blackmail, its obedience is to the Constitution


The president of the National Electoral Council, Tibisay Lucena, said on Wednesday that the CNE is a body representing the political rights of all Venezuelans, which “Does not acts under anyone’s blackmail, does not get any pressure from anyone, and its obedience is due to the constitution and the law “.
She denounced the campaign developed from the social networks against the Electoral Power and against herself, for being the president of the institution.
“We received a new aggression against the institution and especially against the workers of the Electoral Power. What should be a democratic mechanism has became a quest against the National Electoral Council, ” she expressed, referring to the series of attacks that the agency has received in recent days.
“The smear campaign has been mutating, now the aggression is not against the institution, it is against the authorities,” she said.
The president of the CNE, said she did not take this campaign personally, however, warned that these are attempts to break the electoral authority as a step to disown the Constitution.
BEGAN VERIFICATION PROCESS FOR FORMS
Regarding the revoking referendum, the rector explained that the regulations in force for the realization of it is that which is published in the Electoral Gazette No. 405 dated December 18, 2007 and that are already counting the returns delivered by the MUD with participation of witnessed of all political organizations.
“Were brought 80 boxes with 100 sheets each, and some of them are incomplete, these details will be reported to the community at the time this is over,” she said.
Lucena also noted that a mechanism such as the referendum seeks to guarantee and strengthen democracy, not to weaken it, and therefore it must comply with all regulations for the exercise of this right.
Finally, she said that the CNE is acting attached to the Constitution very clearly and ensuring transparency in the political rights of all.
