Constitutional lawyer and member of the Presidential Commission for the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Hermánn Escarrá, stressed on Sunday that the main objective of the call made by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for a constituent process, is to win peace.

“Its central objective is actually to win peace amidst very serious disputes, amidst an anarchic violent overflow … in the midst of the difficult, complex situation that we all live daily, complex for being violent, complex due to the lack of Dialogue, complex by the desire to destroy and dissolve the Republic; President Nicolás Maduro assumes the behavior of a Statesman, “said the lawyer from the meeting with the General Staff of Women within the framework of the Constituent Assembly, held at the White Palace in Caracas.

He explained that the National President becomes a Statesman when he perceives “that he can not continue in an innocuous debate that is meaningless, because he had already driven all forms of dialogue provided for it”, referring to the insistence of the Venezuelan right wing  to refuse all the formulas of dialogue promoted by the Government.

He warned that given the calls of violence of the opposition, the country advances “dangerously towards more than 30 victims, towards a delicate and lamentable situation”.
