Venezuela registered 305 new infections of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, of which 249 are of community transmission and 56 imported cases, as announced the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñañez.
Regarding the distribution of community cases, the minister pointed out that Zulia state is the entity with the highest number of cases with 49, where the highest number of infections is in the municipalities: Maracaibo 19, Cabimas 14, Mara 11 and San Francisco 5.
Through his social networks, he indicated that the distribution continues in the Capital District with 39 cases, Carabobo 37, Yaracuy 28, Lara 20, Trujillo 20, Barinas 10, Miranda 10, Aragua 9, Táchira 8, Cojedes 7, Apure 6, Falcón 3 , Nueva Esparta 2 and La Guaira 1.
“Of the 56 imported cases, 45 come from Colombia, 42 with entry through Táchira state, 2 through Zulia and 1 through Apure. In addition, 10 came from Peru and 1 from Ecuador, all with income through Táchira state,” reported Ñañez.
In 241 days after the start of the pandemic in Venezuela, 95,750 cases have been confirmed, of which 90,743 people have been recovered, representing 95% of infections.
Currently in the national territory there are 4,169 active cases, the majority are being treated within the public health system, 2,913 in hospitals, 1,219 in Integral Diagnostic Centers, in addition to 37 cases in private clinics.
In turn, he regretted the death of 4 Venezuelans: two men from Miranda state, both 75 years old, a 74-year-old woman from Apure state, and a 67-year-old woman from Amazonas state.
“Condolences to their relatives and close ones,” wrote the minister.
Finally, he reported that up to date 2,225,608 tests have been carried out, representing 74,187 tests per million inhabitants.
