By instructing “maximum vigilance and preparation for any aggression,” the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced the activation of the Bolivarian Fury Plan to respond – with forcefulness – “any terrorist attempt, whatever day it may be, whatever dawn it may be, if it presents itself as “shows up.”
Of a civic-military-police nature, the Bolivarian Fury Plan will be deployed in the national territory in defense of the right to peace, which was intended to be violated through conspiratorial maneuvers directed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Control Administration of Drugs (DEA) that, among others, included assassination plans and assault with groups of mercenaries on the 21st Brigade of San Cristóbal, located in Táchira state:
“I have no doubt that the surprising terrorist alternatives that they could take would give rise to the emergence of a powerful popular movement and would radicalize the Revolution to unsuspected levels. I have no doubt that the reaction of the people, in a civil-military union, would be overwhelming, they would be pulverized from a political point of view and it would force us to radicalize it on all battle fronts nationally and internationally, but we want perpetual peace,” he stated from La Casona Cultural “Aquiles Nazoa”, located in Miranda state.
The Head of State explained that the Bolivarian Fury Plan will be closely related to the activation of the Popular Units for Peace (UPPAZ), created last October. On the other hand, he reiterated his call for mobilization starting this January 18 in rejection of the conspiracy that tries to undermine recovery and economic tranquility, dealing a “psychological blow to the happiness of the people.”
In this regard, he ordered the vice president for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, Vladimir Padrino López, and the operational strategic commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez, to attend to the instruction immediately and remain on permanent alert.
