The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed on Monday that dialogue is the only alternative for peace and stability of the nation.
During a press conference held after a meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, in Miraflores, the President stressed that «the MUD (Board of Democratic Unity) is obliged to sit down to talk and look for ways and paths for the peace of the country, to respect the Supreme Court of Justice, the laws and the Constitution».
He stressed the importance of establishing dialogue for the future of the country’s youth: «We have to build a country that we will leave to you (youth) in peace, peace with justice, peace with equality, peace with independence, peace with dignity , (…) with education, with culture, with advance, with development», he said.
He added that Venezuela «undoubtedly needs political stability», however, the MUD does not want to cooperate to achieve this goal. In that sense, he urged the opposition to sit down and talk to find the paths of peace and the well-being of the country.
