Chancellor Arreaza rejects statement by the Spanish government regarding dialogue in Venezuela


The Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza expressed his rejection of a communiqué issued by the Government of Spain, where they attack the National Dialogue Board initiated last Monday between Venezuelan authorities and opposition parties:
“By reading this statement, we assume that the very worried Spanish government must be making efforts, pressuring Washington for Donald Trump to lift illegal sanctions and the criminal blockade imposed to make the Venezuelan people suffer,” the chancellor wrote in his account in the Twitter social network, accompanied by a link to the Spanish government’s statement.
In the text, the Government of Spain “expresses its concern about the paralysis of the negotiations that had been taking place in recent months between Venezuelan actors with Norwegian mediation,” nevertheless, rejects the new process of conversations initiated between the Government and the opposition , through the National Dialogue Board, installed this Monday.
The National Dialogue Board for Peace, installed for the achievement of a political solution in defense of sovereignty and in compliance with the National Constitution; It has the participation of political parties of the opposition Avanzada Progresista, Soluciones para Venezuela, Cambiemos, MAS and Esperanza por el Cambio.
Among the agreements signed include the incorporation of the fraction of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) to the National Assembly; attend the new conformation of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and defend the legitimate rights of Venezuela over the Essequibo as contemplated in the Geneva Agreement.
