The Mayor of Caracas, Jorge Rodríguez, referred on Thursday during his program, “La Política en el Diván” (Politics in the Divan), on the capture of Gillber Caro, a deputy of the Voluntad Popular (right wing) party, arrested on Wednesday for promoting terrorist acts against the peace of the country.
He stressed that Caro is a deputy “for a party that only has permanent shows of violent action, of aggression against the Constitution and democracy. Gilber Caro, a surrogate deputy of which party, which one? Voluntad Popular”.
The Mayor of Caracas recalled that Caro “Was convicted to 20 years in prison for homicide, then convicted of drug trafficking, and then while in prison was known as the “pran” (mob chief) of the Black Car.”
“I wonder, and it is something for the National Electoral Council to reflect on, a person who is a homicide, a drug trafficker, can be elected as deputy to the National Assembly of Venezuela?”
Rodríguez detailed that this deputy “Had established dangerous connections in the criminal world of a certain area of Caracas; and of the border with Colombia, the same lights are going on again: On Merida, San Cristóbal, Ureña, in a brutal operation they called “Alcatraz”, to generate death, violence, and a direct attack on the Miraflores Palace, to try to liberate Mr. Leopoldo López “.
