Héctor Rodríguez, head of the Homeland block at the National Assembly (AN), urged the fraction of the self-called Board of Democratic Unity (MUD) to rectify and channel their path towards respect for democratic stability and constitutional order in the country.
«For the sake of Venezuela, we hope that they correct and assume all the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and abide by the decisions, abide by the Constitution, as you committed to do so at the dialogue table, which was installed in late October» said the parliamentarian on Thursday during the installation of the first sessions period of 2017.
Regarding the appointment of the new NA board, Rodríguez indicated that this is an illegal and unconstitutional action, since the Parliament is still in disagreement despite the commitment to overcome this situation, assumed in the dialogue tables promoted by the National Executive.
He also recalled that 2016 was negative for the opposition majority in the AN, whose performance last year was marked by the disowning of the image of Simon Bolivar, offenses against the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the proposal of unconstitutional laws, the refusal to Debate around the decree of the President of the United States, Barack Obama, against Venezuela, among others.
