TSJ declared constitutionality of decree that extends the State of Alarm

This Thursday, the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) declared the constitutionality of Decree No. 4,337 issued by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, by means of which is extended the declaration of the State of Alarm throughout the national territory, published in the Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela No. 6,579 Extraordinary of October 5, 2020, as provided for in Article 339 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

In this sense, ruling No. 0146-2020 of the Constitutional Chamber, in a joint presentation of the Magistrates that compose it, indicates that the aforementioned decree entered into force since it was issued and that its legitimacy, validity, validity and legal-constitutional effectiveness remains irrevocably intact, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Finally, the ruling ordered the publication of the decision in the Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in the Judicial Gazette and on the website of the Supreme Court of Justice.
