For 1998, the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS) had 222,000 people who had their pension throughout the country, nowadays with more than three million elder adults, 85% of Venezuelans in Pension age are included in the system.
In Venezuela, the workers who quoted in the Social Security and also those who due to the characteristics of their trade were not included in the system, among them are the cultors, artists, cultural promoters, fishermen, drivers, housewives , Merchants, taxi drivers, etc.
Pensions are paid each month and are homologated to the minimum wage, unlike the period 1958-1998, when only a fraction of the monthly salary was paid.
