National Assembly installs Venezuela-United States Parliamentary Friendship Group

The National Assembly (AN) celebrated the installation of the Venezuela-United States Parliamentary Friendship Group, a legislative body that will be chaired by Deputy Antonio Ecarri.

Through its channels in social media, the body shared images of the meeting held in the Bicentennial Hall of the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, where are also joining Deputy Francisco Torrealba as vice president and Jorge Barragán as secretary.

As part of the first activities of this committee, Ecarri announced that he will soon meet with the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Foreign Office for Venezuela, John Barrett, with the goal of officially presenting the friendship group and begin developing a joint work agenda that allow to address issues of bilateral interest.

Finally, he stated that this space would serve to evaluate cooperation mechanisms that yield positive results for both Caracas and Washington and establish the basis for a diplomatic understanding between these two countries.
