The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday in a first reading, the draft of partial reform of the Constitutional Law Against Hatred, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance, a legal instrument currently under review at the request of the National Executive.
The presentation of the report for the first reading of the project was presented by the First Vice President of the Parliament, Deputy Pedro Infante (PSUV/Miranda), who announced that the proposal raises a change of name of the legislation as «Law for Democratic Coexistence, Peace, and Tolerance.»
Infante, as provided by the National Assembly’s Internal Regulations and Rules of Debate, outlined the reasons for proposing amendments to the instrument, which had originally been approved by the National Constituent Assembly in 2017.
