Minister Diosdado Cabello highlights work of CNE and reaffirms the Communal Model in the 2026 Consultation

The Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, congratulated the National Electoral Council (CNE) this Monday on the execution of the Second National Consultation of 2026, describing the performance of the electoral body as «extraordinary.»

During an institutional press conference, the Head of the Ministry of Interior Relations explained that this recognition of the electoral body is due to the technical and logistical deployment ensured throughout the electoral process. Likewise, he emphasized that the turnout at the polls reflects the conscious mobilization of communities at voting centers across the country.

The Minister reaffirmed that the nation’s political and social model validates the continued relevance of grassroots organization within local territories. «This has been consolidating little by little, and today we can say: ‘Commune or nothing!’ That is the path forward,» Cabello asserted, referring to the sustained progress of the communal project.

The Ministerial authority also underscored that a participatory and proactive democracy is exercised directly within communities through territorial development projects chosen by the Venezuelan people at the polls.

«The people who participated in this consultation is real—not just a number or a statistic. Some may refuse to acknowledge us, but we are real,» he concluded.
