Judicial reform: “Decisions are being taken along the way”

The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted this Monday the advance of the National Consultation for Criminal Justice Reform:

“About the current deployment, results are being brought to me, and they are truly very good and we must also recognize that everyone is involved, all branches of government, but there are the deputies, our deputies, and have also been joining deputies from opposition sectors,” pointed out Cabello during the red party’s weekly press conference.

He added that, although “the bulk of the work is being handled by the National Assembly deputies, who are the ones who know the subject,” are also participating the Ombudsman’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, the Supreme Court of Justice, and the Public Defender’s Office.

He emphasized that all cases are being addressed and “the good thing is that decisions are being taken along the way. To correct, for example, the flaws where there is a number here and another number there, everything has to match. The file has to be found, and we’re not afraid of that, we’ve never been afraid of it, and I’m sure it will be a resounding success, just like it was on the first time.»
