Has concluded second round of talks at the dialogue table with the 2015 National Assembly delegation

The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, shared the following Communiqué, signed by both heads of the dialogue table delegation:

COMMUNIQUÉ:

In Caracas, at the 25^th day of September 2026, is announced to the country the culmination of the second round of talks between the delegation of the National Government and the National Assembly 2015, with the following results:

The work methodology was based on 2 technical boards:

1. Freedom of speech, Plural thinking and Right to Information.

2. Strengthening of Democracy and the Judiciary Power

Table 1: Freedom of Speech, Plural thinking and Right to information, agree on:

– Accompanying the announcement made by the National Government of continuing and broadening the lifting of administrative measures against news portals, websites, electronic media, as part of the contributions made at this dialogue board, which seek to strengthen the freedom of speech, plural thinking and the right to information, thus inviting all actors of the public and private communication system to contribute with responsibility from their own spaces to the democratic coexistence, to peace and the national union.

– Promoting a debate agenda regarding the use of the national radio-electric spectrum with all the actors involved, where is included the revision of any required legal instruments.

Table 2: Strengthening of Democracy and the Judiciary Power, agree on:

– The formation of the Council for the Reviewing of Credentials and Requisites of postulates to the TSJ made up by the following jurists:

1, Dr. Belen Ramirez Landaeta

2. Dr. Rogelio Perez Perdomo

3. Dr. Bernardo Pulido Marquez

4. Dr. Silio Sanchez

5. Dr. Deyanira Nieves

6. Dr. Federico Fuenmayor

7. Dr. Maria Bernadoni Govea

– To advance in the next ordinary session of the National Assembly, in the appointment of the Preliminary Commission of the Committee of Judicial Nominations, and to publish the corresponding schedule of the procedure.

– To continue in the analysis and review of legislative instuments needed for the transformation of the Justice System.

Finally, both delegations made the commitment to maintain the discussions and make the monitoring to these agreements.
