The National Government and the Delegation of the 2015 National Assembly began this Wednesday a process of talks with the opening of the plenary, where they agreed on the work methodology, discussion cycles, and an agenda of topics that will guide this new stage of political dialogue.
According to a communiqué released by Jorge Rodríguez, coordinator of the National Dialogue, the first work cycle will be held in continuous session until Wednesday, August 12.
At the close of this phase, the continuation of the plenary session will be evaluated, taking into account the importance of the process for the well-being of Venezuelans. Both delegations reaffirmed the principles that will govern the talks: respect for national sovereignty, good-faith negotiation, the pursuit of benefits for the country, and a commitment to a political, peaceful, democratic, and constitutional solution.
Were also highlighted mutual recognition, political equality, equal treatment, and verifiable compliance with agreements.
Finally, the parties agreed to keep the country promptly informed of any advances made during these talks, reaffirming their commitment to moving toward agreements that contribute to national stability.

COMMUNIQUÉ:
In Caracas at the 6th day of August 2026, has started the process of talks between the delegation of the National Government and the Delegation of the National Assembly of 2015, with the installation of the plenary, agreeing on the methodology, the work cycles and ratifying the agenda of subjects that will guide this process.
In the fist work cycle we will be in permanent session until Wednesday, August 12, and will be defined the continuity of the plenary, having into account the priority this process has for the well being of all Venezuelans.
The parties subscribe to the principles of respect to the National Sovereignty, good-faith negotiation and the pursuit of benefits for the country, the political, pacific, democratic and constitutional solution, mutual recognition and respect among the parties, political equality and equal treatment in the table, verifiable compliance with the commitments, protection of human and political rights of all forces involved.
It was agreed to timely inform the country on the advances reached on these talks.
