Economy cabinet coordinates immediate financial measures for victims of earthquakes

The National Government’s economy team scheduled a series of announcements regarding immediate financial actions aimed at mitigating the effects of the double earthquake that struck La Guaira state last June 24. President in Charge Delcy Rodríguez announced that the measures include the creation of special funds to assist victims and the waiver of notary and real estate fees.

In the housing area, Minister for Housing Paola Posani established direct contact with the Venezuelan Chamber of Construction and the Venezuelan Chamber of Real Estate. This alliance with the private sector seeks to expedite short-term housing solutions, complemented by bank credit lines designed exclusively for the purchase or rental of properties.

In addition, the National Executive announced the opening of a donation fund in national currency, which will operate through the Economic and Social Development Bank of Venezuela (Bandes). This financial tool will replicate the model used during the contingency in Las Tejerías, allowing national contributions to be channeled directly towards the construction of new residential structures.
