The President of the Legislative Branch, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez (PSUV/National), made a call this Tuesday for unity, empathy, and national solidarity in the face of the adversities caused by the double earthquake of last June 24, which shook the country.
The parliamentarian emphasized that the magnitude of the losses demands the highest ethical and human standards from all sectors, and categorically rejected the use of the tragedy for political or partisan purposes:
«These are not times for polarization to persist, nor for petty opportunism, nor for closing doors,» asserted Rodríguez.
He exalted that the reconstruction process goes beyond the material scope, and represents an opportunity to heal collectively and prioritize the consolation of the affected families, setting aside any political differences.
«Rebirths are painful, but after pain comes joy, happiness, tenderness, and life.» «Let’s bet on that,» invited the parliamentarian during his speech at the ordinary session.
