A delegation from the National Assembly (AN) of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in the 2nd International Forum on the State of the Union, «Great Heritage – Common Future,» held in Brest, Belarus, from June 20 to 22, 2026.
The Venezuelan parliamentary commission was headed by Deputy Tania Díaz, leader of the Parliamentary Bloc of the Homeland and Vice President for International Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). She was accompanied by Deputy Jesús Germán Faría Tortosa, President of the AN’s Standing Committee on Economy, Finance, and National Development and leader of the Group of Parliamentary Friendship with Russia, and by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Belarus, Franklin Ramírez Araque.
During the plenary session on June 22, Deputy Tania Díaz reaffirmed Venezuela’s commitment to defending historical truth, sovereignty, and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations. She emphasized the importance of unity among peoples resisting hegemony and working toward building a more just and equitable international order, in accordance with the anti-fascist and anti-colonialist spirit that characterizes Venezuelan foreign policy.
For his part, Deputy Jesús Faría manifested the relevance of strengthening mechanisms of economic and parliamentary cooperation between the countries of the Eurasian region and Latin America, highlighting the potential for productive complementarity and the need to develop alternative financial architectures that contribute to the economic independence of nations of the South.
Great Patriotic War:
The forum makes part of the commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, and brought together nearly 100 members of parliament from countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Serbia, Myanmar, China, Cuba, and Mongolia.
The event focused on preserving shared historical memory, the goals of patriotic education, and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation in a multipolar world.
