The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that Anzoátegui state has positioned itself as the region with the most dynamism in the country’s fishing sector, after registering an 86% increase.
«Anzoátegui state alone has seen 86% growth in fishing this year… I believe it is a champion state for fishing,» she emphasized.
She also compared the magnitude of this increase to the sector’s overall national performance, positioning this eastern territory as a strategic element in the country’s economic recovery:
«Nationwide, growth is between 3% and 5%—there has been growth—but what Anzoátegui state has is what I am talking about: the economic explosion of Anzoátegui state, it is not just oil, it is gas, it is the refinery; it is also livestock farming, crop cultivation, and fishing,» stated the National Dignitary, further describing the region as the «champion state for fishing.»
During her intervention, the Head of State also highlighted the collaborative work carried out with fishing communities through the impulse of the «Tejiendo Redes» (Weaving Nets) project—an initiative that is part of an integral development plan for the region’s fishing sector.
At the same time, she noted that these actions are not limited to the harvesting of species but extend to strengthening the entire production chain; Executive policies include strengthening the cold chain, adding value to production, and optimizing marketing mechanisms for the direct benefit of fishing communities and the country’s food sovereignty.
