Acting President Delcy Rodríguez calls for the Great National Productive Union to strengthen food sovereignty

During a tour of the farm of the UBRE Project, located in Miranda state, the Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, made a call on the productive force of the country for the “Great National Productive Union”, stressing on the importance of strengthening the country’s food sovereignty:

“I know that are all over the country are being delivered fair land titles, practically 168,000 hectares. This is social justice for our people,” said Acting President Rodríguez, recalling the Government’s commitment to the peasants and agricultural production.

The Acting President made a comparison between the feats of Commander Hugo Chávez and President Nicolás Maduro, pointing out that the legacy of both leaders was the inspiration for a new stage of development and progress in the country: “We stand out,” she stated, showing her satisfaction with the joint work held by the economy team represented by the Sectoral Vice President for Economy and Finances, Calixto Ortega, and the governor of Miranda state, Elio Serrano.

The Acting National Dignitary explained to the farmers present the need to defend sovereignty in the territory and national production, highlighting that the productive economy must be a priority. “The defense of production and the productive economy is essential to guarantee food security in our country,”

In her speech, the Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela also mentioned the importance of integrating various forms of economy, such as the communal economy, entrepreneurship and collaboration between industrialists and large producers.

“I have made a call for the Great National Productive Union, with the communal economy, with the economy of entrepreneurship, with the economy of industrialists, of the large producers and the farmers union, so that all of us, in union, may guarantee the national production, the fundamental thing, the foodstuffs,” she stated.

This call for unity resonates at a crucial moment for Venezuela, where cooperation between farmers, entrepreneurs and industrialists is essential to face current challenges, ensure food sovereignty and guarantee the well-being of the Venezuelan people.
