From the Great March of the Worker Men and Women of Venezuela, the Acting President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, sent a strong message to the Venezuelan people, demanding the immediate release of Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.

Through an address via telephone to the country’s workforce, the Acting President made a call to remain firm during these challenging times: “Brothers and sisters of the country’s workforce, in these difficult times we have experienced, we must remain firm in our struggle until we achieve the return of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores,” expressed Rodríguez.

In her speech, she emphasized the need for national cohesion as a fundamental pillar for overcoming adversity: “I make a call for unity and I convene you to cohesion so that we can continue on the path of economic growth and the development of social well-being and happiness. May the whole Venezuela unite in the pursuit of this goal,” she added.

The Acting President also specifically addressed the workers, highlighting the historical link between the Bolivarian Government and the working class: “Workers, we have always stood shoulder to shoulder,” she recalled, while informing on the advances of the Labor (reform) Constituent (assembly). She urged for this new legal framework, currently under development, to be imbued with the concept of social justice and the universal Bolivarian doctrine: “May its concept of social justice and the universal Bolivarian doctrine be present in this new framework that you are developing,” she emphasized.

Finally, she called on the entire Venezuelan people to work together for the improvement of the country and to redouble efforts to fulfill the projects of the Bolivarian Revolution, thus reaffirming the commitment to social justice and inclusion as pillars of the labor constituent process and national development.
