This Friday will be installed the Judicial Nominations Evaluation Committee, following the swearing-in of its members during the plenary session.
Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello (PSUV/La Guaira) stated that, once the committee is constituted, will begin the work mandated by the Law on the Supreme Tribunal of Justice, which is the call for developing a schedule of activities.
He noted that this schedule must outline the timeline for the call for nominations, the evaluations, the handling of challenges, and, ultimately, the date for presenting the list of eligible candidates to the Plenary.
He stated this is part of the negotiations of the dialogue for the new Venezuela that all Venezuelans wish to build, that is an important moment for the country: The Judiciary Power is the institution that will guarantee peace among us,» he added.
Alessandrello emphasized that the Nominations Committee is obligated to fulfill its legally mandated duties to ensure that the resulting peace is both genuine and just.
Regarding the deadlines for submitting the list of eligible candidates and completing the committee’s work, he pointed out that the law establishes specific terms and periods that the committee must comply with.
«The requirements are mandatory and the terms are open; therefore, it will depend on the schedule that is decided upon, and then will be had an estimate for the date of presentation before the National Assembly,» he underscored.
