La economía de Venezuela crecerá 5% en 2026, según el FMI

Venezuela’s economy will grow 5% in 2026, according to IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its growth forecasts for Venezuela’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 5% for 2026 and 7% for 2027—projections that position the South American nation among the economies with the biggest expansion in the region.

The financial institution’s updated report surpasses the forecast issued last April, which placed the economic evolution at 4% and 6% for the 2026–2027 term. This boost coincides with an increase in hydrocarbon export volumes in the international market, according to local media reports.

In the macroeconomic scope, the report anticipates an advance of the global economy of 2.5% for this year, while for emerging economies is projected a positive variation of 3.3%, influenced by dynamics of energy trade and investments in technology.
