Producción petrolera alcanza 1,218 MBD y prevén incorporar 1.300 MW al sistema eléctrico

Oil production reaches 1.218 million barrels per day; expected to add 1,300 MW to the electrical system

During the 82nd Annual Assembly of Fedecámaras, Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez reported that hydrocarbon production in Venezuela, including condensates and gas liquids, grew by 8% over the last 12 months, and reached 1.218 million barrels per day (MBD) in September 2026.

In matters of electricity, it is expected to incorporate 1,300 megawatts (MW) during the fourth quarter of 2026. This will be achieved through the reactivation of Unit 6 at the Planta Centro facility with 600 MW, and the commissioning of units at the Zulia Thermal Complex and distributed generation, with over 700 MW.

In the medium term, between 2026 and 2030, is expected to add 7,400 MW to the National Electric System (SEN).

The plan also includes a new SEN Law aimed at incentivizing private investment in the electricity sector.
