Venezuela rejoined the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) and participated in its annual technical meeting held in Madrid, Spain, according to the Superintendent of the National Integrated Service of Customs and Tax Administration (Seniat), Román Maniglia.
«Thanks to the high-level diplomacy led by President Delcy Rodríguez, we have returned to the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), having been invited to its annual technical meeting in Madrid, Spain, where we were able to learn about the experiences of each country and their progress in matters of tax collection,» the official explained.
Maniglia highlighted that the organization brought together more than 40 countries and boasts six decades of technical cooperation, the exchange of experiences and promotion of best practices in tax administration.
The superintendent noted that CIAT previously participated as a technical advisory team during the creation of Seniat, and that this return has enabled the resumption of work tables on cooperation, technological innovation, partnerships, and training.
This reincorporation allows to review experiences from other tax administrations and mechanisms related to the modernization, digitization, and automation of collection processes.
The Venezuelan representative stated that the modernization, digitization, and automation of the national tax service represent a key area of work aimed at strengthening the public management model and fostering a greater responsibility among taxpayers.
