During her intervention at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that the country is transitioning toward a new era of well-being and rebirth.
In her speech to the international community, the dignitary noted that the nation is prepared to establish diplomatic ties based on mutual respect: «Venezuela is ready to walk hand-in-hand with those who believe in respectful international relations, free from interference or prejudice.»
Likewise, the Head of State addressed a special message to new generations and citizens affected by recent natural disasters, highlighting the resilience of the Venezuelan people in the face of adversity.
In this regard, she emphasized: «The strength of this people is not measured in easy times, but precisely in moments like this; from every catastrophe we have experienced as a nation, we have always emerged more united than we were before it occurred.»
In the same way, she acknowledged that the recovery process would require perseverance, noting that: «Rebuilding the national soul will be our priority.»
During her address, Rodríguez recalled the enduring relevance of the ideas of the Liberator Simón Bolívar as the Bicentennial on December 16 approaches, invoking his call for popular sovereignty.
Quoting the Liberator’s historic words, she emphasized: «Only the people knows what is best for them and is the sole owner of their destiny; but not a powerful figure, nor a party, nor a faction, but the people is the sovereign.»
Finally, the President concluded by calling for social cohesion and a collective effort to consolidate the nation’s development and prosperity, urging that unity among citizens stand as the primary symbol of dignity before the world.
