On Tuesday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, participated in the high-level debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly at the organization’s headquarters in New York, United States.
Upon her arrival at the diplomatic venue this morning, the Head of State was welcomed by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, in accordance with the protocol established for the start of this multilateral event. Subsequently, she took her corresponding seat to voice the sovereign stance of the Homeland in defense of peace, the self-determination of peoples, and the strengthening of international law.
Venezuela’s Strategic Role in the UN General Assembly:
In line with the theme of the 81st sessions term of the UN General Assembly, debates are centered on recovering trust in multilateralism, Venezuela reaffirms its historic and strategic role in global geopolitics as an energy power, boosting cooperation in hydrocarbons, renewable energy, and global energy security as engines of regional development.
Historically, the country has maintained a leading and constructive role within the heart of the organization, championing the sovereign equality of states and the unwavering defense of the United Nations Charter.
