U.S. Secretary of Energy Christopher Wright stated that there will always be those willing to question or attack the joint efforts undertaken by Venezuela and the United States to strengthen their relationship in the energy sector.
He noted that the agreement signed between the two countries constitutes a win-win agreement, in which both parties will obtain direct benefits, especially from the increase of investment in Venezuela, which will contribute to improving the quality of life for Venezuelans.
He emphasized that companies like Chevron, one of the largest oil producers, are willing to invest in technology, exploration, and operational expansion to demonstrate concrete results in the country.
In that regard, he noted that the energy partnership initiated just eight months ago has already led to a 25% increase in oil production and a 50% increase in exports—advances he described as giant leaps forward that will generate benefits for the development of both the United States and Venezuela. He added that these agreements will foster new industrial opportunities, increased capabilities, and improvements in strategic sectors.
Finally, Wright expressed to feel fully confident in the signed agreements, believing they will produce economic benefits for both countries.
