President Delcy Rodríguez led signing of Energy Agreements with U.S. delegation

At a ceremony held at Miraflores Palace, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led the signing of important energy agreements during the official visit of U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright to Venezuela.

This meeting, held in the «Sol del Perú» Hall, marks a milestone in bilateral cooperation, focusing on the reactivation and optimization of the hydrocarbons sector.

Among the points presented, stood out the integral agreement with Chevron Carabobo Holdings for access to reserves in the Petroindependencia joint venture, as well as the adaptation of the Petroboscán, Petropiar, and Petroindependencia joint ventures to the new Hydrocarbons Law, thus ensuring an updated legal and fiscal framework that favors productive investment.

The meeting also included a cooperation agenda for the development of new extraction projects and the modernization of energy infrastructure. Were made official the transition agreement and production participation contracts for the Junín-5 block with the Italian energy corporation Eni, as well as a participation contract with Primavera Infinita for the Budare Elotes block.

These partnerships aim to boost national oil production capacity by integrating cutting-edge technology and ensuring that processes align with international standards of efficiency and economic sustainability for the country.

Finally, the bilateral commitment extended beyond crude oil extraction to include significant partnerships to strengthen the National Electric System (SEN) and the operational infrastructure of the oil industry.
