The National Assembly (AN) unanimously approved in its first reading the Partial Reform Bill of the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) during an extraordinary session this Thursday, with the aim to improve the functioning of the highest court to guarantee faster, more efficient, and more transparent justice.
During the session, the First Vice President of Parliament, Deputy Pedro Infante, referred to the reasons behind the partial reform of the aforementioned law, highlighting the adaptation of the Judicial Nominations Committee, the renewal of magistrates, and the in-depth monitoring of the transformation of justice processes, in accordance with Articles 274 and 270 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (CRBV).
«The concrete proposal is to increase the Nominations Committee to 23 members, with a very important substantive difference where we would leave the number of deputies at 11 and increase it to 12 members from the different sectors of civil society,» he said.
