ECLAC projects growth of 6.5% for Venezuela in 2026, highest in the region

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has projected a 6.5% growth for the Venezuelan economy in 2026, positioning the country as the fastest-growing in the region, as reported the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

In her address, marking two months since the seismic doublet that struck the country, the dignitary highlighted that this forecast adds to the nation’s streak of 21 consecutive quarters of economic growth, reflecting a positive and sustained trend in the recovery of productive activity.

Rodríguez emphasized that these figures are the result of the policies implemented by the National Executive to overcome the severe impact of international sanctions and reactivate the country’s economic engines.

“These are important figures, but they are by no means the final goal because there is still a long way to go to recover an economy severely impacted by sanctions,” expressed Rodríguez, calling for prudence and continued work to consolidate the advances.

The president insisted that the true purpose of this growth is for it to translate into tangible benefits for the population, such as job creation, increased income, and improved public services.

In this regard, the dignitary explained that the government is focused on creating the conditions for economic development to reach every corner of the country and be reflected in the daily lives of families.

She mentioned that, in parallel, measures are being adopted to simplify procedures, reduce bureaucracy, and modernize the tax system, in order to facilitate business activity and productive investment.

«The goal is for a growing economy to translate into jobs, better incomes, services, and opportunities for families,» Rodríguez stated, outlining the path that will allow macroeconomic growth to become an engine of inclusion and social well-being.
