President Delcy Rodríguez activates Civil Protection system in response to affectations by rainfalls in the Greater Caracas

President Delcy Rodríguez announced that she has activated the Civil Protection system to address the affectations caused by Tropical Wave No. 40, which has generated heavy rainfalls in the Greater Caracas, particularly affecting the El Valle, La Vega, San Antonio, Coche, and Altamira sectors.

The Head of State indicated that they remain on alert and in constant monitoring in the face of these events that are impacting the country, a consequence of the global climate emergency. She ordered immediate action to address the situation.

«I have given instructions to the Vice President for Political Affairs, Citizen Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and the Chief of Civil Protection, Admiral Oti Paituvi, to activate the Civil Protection system to address the effects of these severe rains,» expressed the President.

The dignitary emphasized that the deployment of response teams is being carried out in coordination with the different levels of government. The goal is to guarantee timely assistance to the communities affected by the storm.

Rodríguez assured that the authorities maintain an actively monitoring of the weather situation through the established protection and management mechanisms:

«We remain alert, attentive, and always with the monitoring through our protection and management mechanisms in the face of these types of climate events that are currently affecting our country, and of which we are ready and prepared to respond,» she stated.

The dignitary stressed that the country is prepared to handle these types of emergencies.

Likewise, the authorities urge everyone to remain calm and consult official channels for accurate information on weather conditions and preventative measures.
