La Guaira State receives heavy equipment for debris removal labor

The governor of La Guaira state, José Alejandro Terán, reported on the endowment by the United States government and its Chargé d’Affaires in Venezuela, John Barrett, after the concretion of the donation of 20 pieces of heavy machinery that will be used to address operational emergencies in the state.

The delivery of the equipment will immediately reinforce the field operations deployed following the seismic doublet that occurred 55 days ago. With this addition, the number of active machinery units ascends to more than 700 mobilized equipment in the affected sectors.

The arrival of the new equipment will accelerate the removal of the more than 533,000 tons of debris generated by the seismic emergency. The regional leader emphasized that international cooperation is crucial for consolidating the cleanup and beginning the reconstruction and social infrastructure phase.

Finally, Terán emphasized that the combined effort of external technical support and coordinated actions from the National Executive will facilitate the state’s social development. The institutional strategy aims to swiftly restore operational normalcy and the well-being of vulnerable communities.
