The Minister of People’s Power for Hydrocarbons, Paula Henao, presented Venezuela’s hydrocarbon investment opportunities to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) in the United States, as well as the new legal framework for this sector, fundamental to the country’s economy.
The information was published by the Venezuelan Chargé d’Affaires in the US, Johann Álvarez, on his account on the Instagram social network, where he highlighted that the presentation took place during the Strategic Forum «Empowering Venezuela: Energy, Investment & Opportunity,» held as part of IMAGE 2026 in Houston, USA.
«We held high-level meetings with representatives of the US Department of Energy, consolidating the joint work agenda initiated in May,» Álvarez reported.
He also highlighted the progress made in the reconstruction of the hydrocarbon sector after the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes of last June 24th.
Álvarez noted that Venezuela continues “working with technical rigor and a strategic vision” to advance in the country’s reconstruction and energy development.
