4,333 people have been certified as deceased after the earthquakes of June 24

The Chief of Staff for Temporary Camps, Jorge Rodríguez, reported this Saturday that, following the earthquakes of June 24, a total of 4,333 people have been certified as deceased; while 16,740 resulted injured and 6,462 were rescued.

«There are still sites active for the search and rescue of lives; many teams are equipped for that… the debris removal process is being carried out slowly to avoid losing any human lives… also because the people wants to recover the bodies of their deceased relatives,» he detailed.

Likewise, he highlighted that the number of families assisted after the seismic events is 86,794, and that there have been installed 94 temporary camps.

Regarding the affected buildings, he listed 856, of which 190 have collapsed or completely fallen.

Likewise, he reported that 18,437 people have been assisted in temporary camps and triage centers, while regarding hospitals, he referred that 13 are active and that 91% of admitted patients have been discharged.

Regarding the international rescuers, Rodríguez said there are 2,422, in addition to 31,747 national personnel.

He also mentioned that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) had militarized La Guaira state from June 25 and that there are 30,197 registered volunteers in all areas.

Moreover, he reported that in the most recent report were registered 1,203 aftershocks. 40 of those in Caracas, 28 in La Guaira, and 26 in Miranda.
