President Delcy Rodríguez led coordination meeting with security corps of the State

Following the two earthquakes of June 24, the President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led a meeting with the country’s main security agencies to evaluate the actions and phases of deployment and control by of the security bodies of the State.

The assessment by the authorities focused on three main areas, highlighting the immediate deployment of force and militarization of the disaster zones with 14,000 military and police personnel, who are concentrated especially in the state of La Guaira and critical points in Caracas and Aragua state.

This deployment allows to guarantee public order, protecting collapsed commercial and residential areas to prevent violations to property, controlling road access, as well as advancing on rescue and technical removal efforts, addressing the main lines with absolute priority on the rescue of people who are alive.

The National Government has reiterated that search and rescue efforts remain uninterrupted and in a coordinated manner with international brigades that have arrived to provide support during the critical hours following the disaster.

At this meeting were also discussed the plans and approaches of the security agencies after the decreeing of seven days of national mourning, in memory of all those who died and in solidarity with the victims and their families.
