PSUV supports restructuring and reengineering of the State

The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, affirmed that the political organization «fully supports the state restructuring and reengineering process led by the President in Charge, Delcy Rodríguez.»

He stated that this is a necessary task to strengthen the public administration and adapt the institutional structure to the country’s needs.

Cabello explained that the review includes ministries, agencies, and affiliated bodies, with the objective of determining which functions are being fulfilled, which overlap, and which structures require reorganization. He indicated that there are institutions that should be attached to other ministries and that this evaluation will allow to streamline responsibilities and optimize processes.

The socialist leader recalled that the National Assembly recently approved a law aimed at expediting and optimizing administrative procedures, an instrument that—as he said—seeks to reduce opportunities for irregular practices and improve citizen services: “Every time an unnecessary procedure is created, it opens a door for an unscrupulous official. This review aims to close those spaces,” he stated.

Cabello clarified that the reorganization does not implies staff reductions nor mass layoffs. He emphasized that the process is aimed at streamlining structures, correcting distortions, and ensuring that each agency fulfills its duty. “This isn’t about persecuting anyone. It’s about bringing order. All Venezuelans are committed to this,” he expressed.

He recalled previous experiences in which were detected payrolls with nonexistent personnel and pointed out that the current review will prevent similar irregularities. “What was found in the National Assembly in previous years is something else entirely. There were people that got paid without working. This is to prevent that from happening again,” he said.

Cabello reported that, in parallel, the PSUV continues with the national consultation on July 12, a process in which party members and communities are participating with proposals.

Likewise, he noted that the journeys of territorial visits will continue this week, with an emphasis on listening to the proposals of young people, community leaders and social organizations.
