The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia González, received this Thursday at his office Álvaro Rodríguez, the new United Nations Resident Coordinator in Venezuela, to further strengthen cooperation mechanisms between the South American country and the multilateral mechanism.
The Chancellor reported on his social media that, during the meeting, he conveyed—on behalf of the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez—a warm welcome to the new United Nations representative in Caracas, and expressed the National Government’s appreciation for the support provided by the various agencies of the organization following the seismic events that struck Venezuela last June 24:
“We reaffirm our full will to continue deepening and diversifying technical cooperation with the UN, always based on dialogue, mutual respect, and trust for the well-being of our people,” sentenced Plasencia.
Recently, coordinator Álvaro Rodríguez met with the Vice Minister for Multilateral Affairs, Joaquín Pérez Ayestarán, in order to promote within the United Nations system an agenda focused on sustainable development, the integral recovery of the country, and the well-being of the Venezuelan people.
The UN launched an emergency plan to assist Venezuelans affected by the seismic doublet.
