The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) endowed Venezuela with one million doses of diphtheria and tetanus vaccines, intended to protect children, pregnant women, adolescents, and adults against these vaccine-preventable diseases.
The activity was led by UNICEF Health and Nutrition Officer Alfredo Olmedo, who noted that the delivery was made to the National Epidemiology Warehouse, located in Caracas, according to what refers UNICEF on its Instagram account.
«We are delivering one million doses of vaccines, representing one million opportunities to protect lives. UNICEF delivered more than one million diphtheria and tetanus vaccines to the Ministry of People’s Power for Health, which will protect children, adolescents, pregnant women, and adults throughout the country,» as reported Olmedo.
In that context, he emphasized the importance of implementing immunization plans, noting that “every vaccine brings us closer to healthier communities.”
“Every vaccine counts, every vaccine protects. And every vaccinated person brings us closer to more resilient and healthy communities,” he added.
