The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Housing and Infrastructure Habitability has made 59,000 inspections to determine how many houings are classified under the yellow, green, or red scheme.
«Of those 59,000 inspections, 10,332 were classified as red. This means they require special studies to determine if they can be repaired without any risk to the population or to those who will live in those homes,» emphasized the National Dignitary during a housing handover ceremony at Fort Tiuna.
During the event, the Head of State explained that the National Government maintains a constant deployment to guarantee the right to decent housing for those affected by the natural disaster that occurred last June 24, implementing various strategies such as the construction of new homes, structural repairs, and the acquisition of properties on the secondary market.
Rodríguez indicated that the government’s work does not stop and that all State agencies are focused on providing concrete and rapid solutions: «We are working tirelessly, the entire form, finishing housings, building new ones, repairing homes, leasing, purchasing on secondary markets—solutions that as a set will allow us to assist the victims of this terrible natural disaster,» the President concluded, reiterating that the protection of the people remains the absolute priority.
