President in Charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that the National Popular Consultation to be held next July 12 will strengthen participatory democracy in our country.
She made the statement during a visit to the «Comercio para la Vida”(Commerce for Life) Endogenous Center located in the Araguaney residences in the Caucagüita parish, Sucre municipality, Miranda state.
In this regard, she indicated that the Consultation will represent «the exercise of democracy» for the consolidation of participatory and protagonistic democracy.
Therefore, she emphasized that this consultation will have «a democratic dimension for our country» with the starring role of the organized People’s Power, which on July 12 will convene not only community councils but also condominium boards.
Regarding the local Commune, Rodríguez reviewed the seven selected projects in matters of transportation, tourism, and spiritual viability (prayer centers), reaffirming that this event represents a key democratic dimension where the organized People’s Power exercises a direct mandate.
At the same time, she reiterated the importance for the state resources to be directed to the real needs of communities in a true exercise of democracy.
