The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reiterated the nation’s demand for the lifting of sanctions imposed against the country, which remain in place amidst the ongoing humanitarian and material crisis following the double earthquake of last June 24, which caused widespread devastation in communities in La Guaira state and other sectors of the country.
During the National Council of Economy held this Monday, the President reported on a recent contact with UK authorities to demand the devolution of the resources in gold belonging to the nation which remain retained in British territory.
Rodríguez stated that the British government’s argument regarding doubts about the legitimacy of Venezuelan institutions lacks any real basis, since all international organizations and coordination efforts are conducted and managed exclusively with the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
She also emphasized that national sovereignty and territorial control of the State are fully established.
In matters of social assistance and infrastructure reconstruction, the president addressed the families currently housed in temporary camps, assuring them that the State’s plan includes the region’s recovery and guaranteed that in a quick manner will be made the deliveries of housing to those families who were left homeless.
