The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that from her administration are being made advances in opening up the country’s economy for the benefit of the people. During an exclusive interview with journalist Eric Cortellessa for TIME magazine, she stated that the current and future strategy of the Venezuelan Executive is, and will keep being, to guarantee the stability and social protection of the country:
«We are opening up the country’s economy for the benefit of our people. My current and future strategy has always been to guarantee peace and tranquility in the country: tranquility and social and economic well-being,» referred the president when asked what would happen to her strategy for the country’s future if a Democrat were to win the next elections in the United States and reverse President Donald Trump’s policy toward Venezuela.
The Head of State also stressed the importance of moving towards a new political era where peaceful coexistence is possible. She clarified that this political moment should not involve economic sanctions against Venezuela.
