If anything has characterized Chavismo has been its unswerving vocation for dialogue

Jorge Rodriguez, Mayor of Caracas and member of the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), said this Thursday that the main feature of the Revolution has always been the call for dialogue and peace.
“If anything has characterized Chavismo has been its unswerving vocation for dialogue. The first time was with Commander Chavez in 1992, when invited to lay down the weapons and his plan was precisely to initiate a meeting with all Venezuelans and make a new constitution, ” said Rodriguez in his “La Politica en el Divan” (Politics in the Divan) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Television.
He explained that the Supreme Commander always called for dialogue, especially when the opposition overflowed its violence with the coup d’ etat and oil strike that costed the country countless losses. Similarly, the Mayor highlighted the call for dialogue made by the Head of State, Nicolas Maduro.
“I’ve been reviewing and I realized that President Maduro has called for dialogue in public speakings more than 39 times, the first one was in the early hours of April 14, 2013 when the opposition propitiated violent actions,” he said.
