He added: “We have to change the unjust system in which we live, the global governance, the diplomatic and economic political issues, and are we the Non-Aligned Countries (…) we are the ones called to play a vanguard role to change the rules of the game that are being imposed from countries that are still living, some of them, with an imperial nostalgia. We come to reject it from here”,said the Ecuadorian Chancellor.
Also, the diplomat said that his country is firmly committed to the principles of Bandung, which guide the actions of the NAM.
“We are absolutely committed to the noble causes of the Non-Aligned Countries, the historical causes of Bandung, of 1965, those causes which transcended the 60s, the 70s, the 80s and even after the Cold War are still more in force than ever. We are those Non-Aligned against imperialism, are those Non-Aligned against injustice. We came here to reclaim global justice and the importance of the peoples of the South, in order to change the rules of the game imposed by the north”, he said.
