The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, announced on Wednesday that Venezuela defeated the US and its imperial obsession in the election of the United Nations Organization to chair the Commission for Peace Missions, Decolonization and Palestine.
Through her account in the Twitter social network, she mentioned the statements of Rafael Ramírez, Permanent Representative of Venezuela to the UN, detailing that the country was elected by absolute majority.
Likewise, Ramirez offered details and wrote: “Today at the UN, the US again maneuvered against our country in the elections for the General Assembly, and we defeated them again. Viva Chávez!”
In another message he indicated that with a 95.6 percent of the votes Venezuela was elected to preside over the 4th UN Commission.
“The US called for a vote at the UN to prevent us from chairing the Decolonization Commission, we beat them with a 95% of the votes”, he added.
The Venezuelan Representative thanked the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean and all the countries that make up the Organization for the lesson on dignity they gave to the United States.
“Our response to the US: Venezuela is to be respected, and our region, nor the UN will ever again be your backyard. We shall overcome”, he said.
